Our Countryside Stars …

We have been delighted to see the outstanding work being done by those who live and work in our countryside on recent TV shows on the BBC …

First of all, Countryfile visited the beautiful National Nature Reserve, Mar Lodge in the Cairngorms National Park and we learnt about how Ptarmigans are thriving on one of Scotland’s highest mountains.   And there was also a feature on the award-winning Snow Roads.

And in her latest series, Country House Secrets, Mary Berry visited Scone Palace and Estate.  The  programme shared how the Estate has managed the land for centuries including in the 19th century, being one of the first to introduce a better management of the Tay River to protect the Wild Atlantic salmon.  Mary also went out with the ghillie into the hills on a Wildlife Safari and was full of praise for the way Scone Estate is working hard to conserve and protect our countryside for all to enjoy.   And as an added bonus, she served up some delicious ways to cook Salmon & Venison.

Catch up with both these programmes on the BBC iplayer.
