Jura is one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. It’s an island off the West coast,  35 miles long and 8 miles wide and inhabited by a thriving community of just 200 people. There’s a distillery, a community shop, a pub and hotel, a village hall and a single track road running the length of the island.  Ardlussa Estate is a 16,000 acre estate owned and run by the Fletcher family, situated at the north end of the island, an hour’s drive from the ferry.

Ardtornish Estate spreads out around Loch Aline on the Morvern Peninsula –  a huge, wooded, U-shaped bay, a natural haven.  Wherever you go, high in the hills or down at sea level, there are streams and lochs.  The water in the streams is the colour of peaty whisky. Choose from seven traditional self catering holiday cottages or from five dramatic apartments in Ardtornish House.
